Set in the late 19th century, this light romantic comedy revolves around how idealistic young doctor, Mortimer Granville came up with the world's first electromechanical vibrator. It also skates, very lightly, over the rather more serious issue of ‘hysteria’, applied in a medical term to encompass anything the male establishment perceived as ‘odd’ in the fairer sex.
