In his graphically erotic new film Q, controversial French filmmaker Laurent Bouhnik (24 Hours in the Life of a Woman) uses the current economic crisis as a trenchant social backdrop to the lives of a group of conflicted teenagers. When the enigmatic Cecile walks into their lives, their deepest-felt sexual urges are unleashed and their worlds changed forever.

After the death of her father, 20 year old Cecile (Déborah Révy) looks for support from her friends but it’s only through random sexual encounters that she finds solace. Alice (Hélène Zimmer), who lives under the thumb of her repressive parents, dreams of the ‘perfect love story’ but her ‘secret’ boyfriend Matt (Gowan Didi) can’t commit to anything substantial. Given striking immediacy by the graphic depiction of real sex, it is these stories of love and desire that form the emotional and sensual epicentre of Q.

Q is a probing look at the nature of sexual impulses and the unique intimacy that only sex can create between two people. (from distributor, Axiom Films)
