A bereaved scientist attempts to create a cure for Alzheimer's, resulting in a supernaturally intelligent chimp named Caesar. The ape’s character swiftly evolves from wide-eyed innocent to reluctant revolutionary while, ironically, never losing his ‘humanity’. Once it kicks off the blemish less CGI action is a joy to behold, and unlike the bloated clucking turkey Tim Burton made a few years ago this manages to retain a dark prescient social message.
