When mentally handicapped Do-Joon is accused of murdering a teenage girl his ageing, herbalist and acupuncturist, single mother goes on a one-woman mission to protect her off-spring and prove his innocence by finding the real murderer.
As in 'Memories of Murder' Bong juggles and mixes genres in a way that western convention precludes and he does so with great success. This 'independent' movie anarchically and successfully combines murder mystery, melodrama, tragedy, social satire, psychological study, thriller and other genres - yet another Korean masterpiece.
