Sam is a lone astronaut doing a three year stint running a Helium 3 mine on the moon. Bored senseless and with only sentient computer GERTY for company, Sam fears he is losing his mind. After an accident he wakes up in the infirmary, but the familiar monotony of his old existence is gone, has Sam finally slipped over the edge into insanity or is he merely an expendable pawn in the mining corporation's ruthlessly logical world.
