A disgruntled CIA analyst with anger management issues decides to write his rather uninteresting memoirs. Unfortunately, for all concerned, the disc falls into the hands of two opportunistic but cerebrally challenged gym employees who rashly decide on some appallingly planned blackmail. 'Burn After Reading' is a darkly comic farce, populated by a varied but uniformly contemptuous group of characters all performed with obvious relish by the five central leads. The Coen Brothers have taken the screwball elements of their earlier films such as ‘Raising Arizona', chucked in a dollop of the nihilistic nastiness of ‘No Country for Old Men', and created a clever, sneakily convoluted joy.
