Now, it's up to the planet's toughest, most charmless anti-hero to save an ungrateful humanity from their demise. Rarely is a follow-on better than the original, but however much I enjoyed the first movie adaptation of the ‘Hellboy' graphic novels, Del Toro has mustered up an even more creative, visually stunning and coherent slice of utter escapism - while Luke Goss's anguished baddie is one of the most empathetic characters to have graced the action flick in a good long while.
