On the July 4th holiday, an attack on the vulnerable United States infrastructure begins to shut down the entire nation. The mysterious figure behind the scheme has figured out every computerised angle, except of course the old school shoot, shoot and shoot again antics of the bloodied, but seemingly indestructible, officer John McClane. Die Hard 4 is so preposterous it makes the first three look plausible, but damn it's good fun; relentless, spectacular and largely CGI free action combined with a big ol' dollop of self mocking gallows humour.
