It's 3:07am and two girls burst into a run down toilet, 11-year-old Joanne is crying her eyes out and her clothing is ripped, middle-aged hooker Kelly's face is bruised and starting to swell. Meanwhile gangster Duncan Allen lies in his bathroom bleeding to death and his suavely vicious son has found his dad and wants answers. Derek, Kelly's pimp, needs to find Kelly or it will be him who pays and Kelly and Joanne need to stay out of sight to stay alive. 'London To Brighton' is a hard, gritty urban thriller based round the lives of some of the least fortunate members of society and, with considerably more thought and characterisation than many of its recent British brethren, well justifies all the critical acclaim lavished upon it.
