12-year-old Sophie can't wait to grow-up, gushing to her mates about future sex, duly getting drunk at a party, passing out and getting uncompromisingly photographed. Now known as the school whore she finds herself virtually friendless and seriously down the school-pecking order. Although the film is a little histrionic at times, and the characters underdeveloped, there is an acute understanding of some of the social problems that children have to cope with, like who they sit next to at lunch and who's friends with who. The only question remains is who should be watching this 18 certificate, (a brief shot of an erect penis is essential to the main joke in the movie), pubescents, parents or teachers?
