Dancing Lessons from God and Medicine Pour le Coeur are two early shorts by the talented documentary film maker Kate Taunton. Although different in many ways a common theme links each work, as Taunton examines how our individuality is expressed in the choices we make, whether it is choosing a video from the local video shop or trying to find a close friend in a crowded city. For both pieces Taunton opts for a relaxed organic style of filmmaking which helps to establish a personal intimacy with her subjects whose words and actions help determine the overall shape and conclusion of each documentary.
