Probably the most infamous haunted house in cinematic history gets another outing with Ryan Reynolds as George Lutz, the square-jawed, suburban husband and father of two who comes over all psychotic after moving into a new home, a house that had already seen the violent destruction of one family and that now threatens another. Not as keep-you-up-all-night as the original but Melissa George does a stirling job as the tormented Mrs Lutz and Reynolds really does manage to look both loving and utterly homicidal at the same time, with his crazy meter synchronised with his clothes and the weather - the madder he gets, the less he wears and the more it rains. Based on a true story..? I doubt it.
