Jeff Talley is an ex hostage negotiator, tortured by his past and now living out his days as chief of police in a small uneventful hick town. Three lads decide to make a bit of easy money when they spot an obviously loaded dad with his two kids, but ‘dad’ is an accountant to some super shady crime syndicate and his house makes fort Knox look like a tent. Having inadvertently trapped themselves in what now resembles a luxury prison, Jeff finds himself once again resuming his old role; but as tensions within the building reach a point of implosion so the crime syndicate enter into the equation and make Jeff an offer his family can’t afford for him to refuse. Hostage is a tense action thriller, with just enough original plot twists to save it from being generic Bruce Willis fodder.
