Review
Shortly after moving to a run-down apartment building in LA, Nell and her husband Steve begin to realise that not all their neighbours are the friendly, bring-you-round-a-cup-of-sugar type, in fact, someone or something is stalking the residents of the Lusman Building...with murderous intentions and a well stocked tool shed. Hyped as a return to form for horrormeister Tobe Hooper, the people behind this remake of the 1978 classic neglect to mention that it's the form shown in such doozies as 'The Mangler' rather than the groundbreaking genius of 'A Texas Chainsaw Massacre'. Erroneously percieving the original (and the proposed rewrite by Jim Van Bebber) as misogynistic, Hooper eschews the human element central to the 1978 version in favour of an unexplained and ridiculous supernatural 'boogeyman'. That said, the gore is plentiful and Angela Bettis once again shines as the curious Nell.
