The ingenious debonair Holmes and his fat foil Watson set about trying to thwart Holmes' arch enemy, Moriarty, in his plans to steal the crown jewels and make a monkey out of Holmes in the process. It's exciting stuff, leading to a thrilling chase climax in the Tower of London. Rathbone and Ida Lupino are as captivating as ever.
