Having suffered a nervous breakdown following his stay at the Lindon Travel Tavern, Alan is back on form presenting road-safety videos in addition to manning his Radio Norwich show. He also has managed to gain an Eastern-European girlfriend and is in the process of building a new house whilst living in a 'static home' next door to the building site. Michael the Geordie no longer resides in the hotel either, opting to run the local petrol station instead. Lynn continues to encapsulate the phrase 'long-suffering'. The make-up the characters wear to age them may be a bit dodgy, and sadly the scripts are not quite as deft as the first series, but Alan Partridge remains Steve Coogan's finest creation, and you will likely never be able to hear the otherwise innocuous name 'Dan' again without smiling.
