Ray Pluto has a back problem, he's also a cop, and when he's witness to a hold up both things come together with disasterous results. Publically humiliated and demoted, Ray's life is at an all time low. Only his beautiful chiropractor and the unrequited affection of his police partner provide Ray with any solace, that is until someone attempts to murder his neighbour and the opportunity to regain some respect finally looms. Double Whammy is from the guy responsible for Living In Oblivion and though there is an often amusing homoerotic subtext, it sways uncomfortably between comedy and thriller, never managing to pull off either convincingly. Easy entertainment, but not up there with Dicillo's earlier work.
