Review
Philippa, is a woman not prone to violence, indeed she's a polished example of model behaviour, but the death of a loved one drives her to seek revenge, an action that results in the killing of innocents and her arrest for murder. Philippa escapes from her predicament with the help of an infatuated policeman and together the two melt into the stunning Italian countryside as fugitives. Heaven was penned as the first part of a trilogy by Kristov Kieslowski and as such it's hardly a revelation to tell you this is a study of the human psyche and our relevance to the universe as a whole and God in all his indifferent, complacently benevolent majesty . Beautifully shot, passionately intense, and if you're in the mood, thought provoking and affecting.
