Will Graham is a retired FBI agent with a rare, but damaging, gift for getting into the psychy of serial killers, a talent that led to the capture of Hannibal Lecter but left Graham near death. Called out of retirement by his boss to hunt down new homicidal maniac on the block 'The Tooth Fairy', whose speciality involves slaughtering entire families, Graham reluctantly enlists Lecter for help. The master of monsters senses the opportunity for games and precedes to play the hunter and the hunted against each other. Thomas Harris' book originally came to the screen as "Manhunter" and while the cast of Red Dragon are top notch and the film is often slickly gripping it lacks the sweaty intensity of the original adaptation.
