US teen heart-throb Johnny Depp plays Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker, the coolest dude in school and the baddest boy in Baltimore. Rich, prim, new girl Alison thinks he's a dream, her grandmother thinks he's a nightmare. An even weirder cast than 'Hairspray' in this quirky, offbeat musical extravaganza that's got a touch of traditional John Waters shock stuff, but is predominately a parody of both 50s teen rebellion and 50s teen musical flicks. The highly eccentric and totally brilliant Alexandro Jodorowsky doesn't make films like anybody else. Directed, written by and starring the man himself "El Topo" is a violent, surreal, quasi-religious Western, if that makes sense (which like the film it doesn't). One of the strangest films ever made. A monochrome nightmare that launched David Lynch to stardom; inspired Twin Peaks and was the first step, some might say, on his voyage up his own back passage. Extraordinarily disturbing and fantastic.Why doesn't he make them like this any more? Twisted genius.

The most perverse Frankenstein flick ever. While the Baron's sister/wife gives the village stud a good going over in her boudoir, the man himself is carving up the locals to create two perfect zombies to spawn a master race. Incest, necrophilia and yards of technicolour entrails. Stomach-churning!

The classic science-fiction film that brought us Robbie The Robot. When a space cruiser is sent to investigate the silence from a planet inhabited by scientists, the crew find all but two of the inhabitants, Professor Morbius and his bewitchingly innocent daughter, have died. Morbius has made a discovery and he has no intention of sharing it (or his daughter!) with anyone. Classy kitsch.
