A high school musical which ripped off everything it could from the 1950s. At the time it was slated, but, in retrospect, it started a trend and is nowhere near as bad as some of the movies which followed it. In fact, one could go as far as to say it's now a bit of a classic...

For John Waters this is a very straight movie...Tracy Turnblatt wins her way onto her local TV teenage dance show and becomes one of the regular boppers. The reigning teen queen is none too pleased with the success of her rival especially when Tracy introduces racially mixed dancing...totally ace flick!!!

Taken from Pete Townsend's rock "opera" of teenage frustration and rebellion set amongst the mods and rockers battling it out on Brighton beach in 1964. Brilliantly recreates the atmosphere of the time and has a great sound track. Speed fighting, speed, casual sex, speed, bike chains and speed.
