The 'City of God' is a slum town within the confines of Rio De Janeiro and a place of such casual and seemingly infinite brutality that no one but its residents ever venture within its borders. Rocket is one young man who has made a conscious decision to escape his 'home town' and it is through his eyes that we view this mesmerizing vision of a society where violence and the ruthlessness to use it have run amok. 'City Of God' is a truly awesome film, a heart pounding journey, with relentless pac find out more...

First Wolfgang Petersen's TV serial was cut to make a highly acclaimed film, nominated for 6 Oscars, but now he has reshot many scenes, added new ones and remastered the sound in order to make a genuine movie. The film follows the crew of a German WW2 U-Boat crew as they co-exist between hunting Allied ships and being prey themselves. The tension, claustrophobia and fear leap out of the screen and the movie successfully avoids any sense of nationalism, a sentiment that would have irredeemably fl find out more...

An excellent black comedy, handsome thriller and a tall story that keeps you guessing as it unwinds. The genuinely ridiculous plot (a man pays a couple of goons to 'pretend' to kidnap his wife in order to get his paws on his in-laws' 'ransom' money) is completely credible as mighty plans fall apart, spiralling ever more beyond the protagonist's control and leaving us marvelling at the complex stupidity of human nature. A modern classic.

Hard-hitting yet darkly humourous dissection of the male psyche, from the director of "Se7en" and "The Game". Ed Norton is the Narrator, a socially inadequate white collar worker who frequents self-help groups for the terminally ill, despite being fit as a fiddle. After this particular avenue of pleasure is denied him, he meets Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), who believes the point of life is to explore self-destruction and experience the pleasures of violence. find out more...

James M Barrie is a lonely man, in a failing marriage, and a playwright whose work has seen better days. When Barrie meets a group of children in the park he finds himself enchanted, and it is not long before he has settled deep within the bosom of their family life, a loving matriarchy held together by the children's young widowed mother. Finding Neverland is based on the play by Allan Knee, and is a tender, deeply moving interpretation of Barrie's inspiration for "Peter Pan". Beautifully perf find out more...

PC Nicholas Angel is the best of the best, in fact he's so damn good he's making his fellow Metropolitan colleagues look inept, there's only one answer, ship him off to a sleepy West Country village. It soon becomes clear however that the market town of Sandford is a den of genteel psychotics, the number of ‘accidental' deaths reaching a frenzy that even Midsomer Norton would deem preposterous. It's time for PC Angel to take it up a gear and along for the ride is his immensely keen but dim witte find out more...
