HITMAN (2007)

Certification15 Our Rating

Based on Eidos' popular third-person shooter series Hitman is a fast and furious foray into the action-packed shoot 'em up territory as previously occupied by (ahem) ‘Shoot 'Em Up', ‘xXx' and 'The Transporter. Olyphant is Agent 47, a genetically manufactured assassin who gets embroiled in a conspiracy involving the assassination of the Russian President. find out more...

Hamstrung by the fact that, mercifully, Nazi Germany didn't last very long and that Indie's been flashing his OAP bus pass around for at least a couple of years, Spielberg has shuffled us along to 1957 and to the height of Soviet/American antipathy… so, new baddies sorted, now to find a cool treasure… mmmmm, what about the ‘legendary' (made up) Crystal Skull of Akator? Roy is a spy on the run, framed for a crime he didn't commit, and June is the vintage car restorer he keeps drugging, rescuing and whisking round the world on a non-stop travel adventure - Boston, the Alps, Salzburg, Spain, South Africa - to escape dodgy agents after his gizmo.

Less futuristic than the sequels but disturbingly bleak and violent. find out more...

Access to 'The Book of Secrets', which only the Presidents of America are privy to, is altruistic treasure hunter Ben Gate's latest 'mission impossible' and with it he must find/save ‘the city of lost gold' from those who would do bad. As soon as National Treasure 2 finished I had immediately forgotten what had happened; but it's sub-Indiana Jones doing the Da Vinci Code, big-of-budget, tongue-in-cheek, relentlessly paced popcorn movie-making of the highest (lowest?) order, and that PG certifica find out more...

Framed for manslaughter by his wealthy ex-partner Dino, mechanic and road racer Tobey Marshall  is unjustly sent to prison for two years. Upon his release, he sets out to gain revenge by rejoining the underground racing scene. Dino, who has been informed of Tobey's plans, uses his wealth and influence to do whatever he can to stop him in his tracks. A pretty impressive, if cheesy, super car action adventure.
