Much imitated but never equalled, this is the definitive space nightmare. The crew of a commercial spacecraft are stalked by a stowaway, mutating monster of veracious appetite. GREMLINS (1984)

Certification15 Our Rating

It looks like a quiet Christmas but when those cuddly little Gremlins arrive chaos starts. Brilliant bits of black comedy as the partying creatures create total mayhem for the human population, whether with chainsaw, cars, guns, or any other suitable artefacts. Playing against time, like Memento, this is a gut wrenching exploration of an horrific act of indiscriminate brutality and the vicious revenge that is its consequence. Irreversible is an exceptionally powerful movie and one of the most disturbing pieces of cinema I've ever seen (the tortuously protracted rape scene would have Ghandi screaming for the death penalty). Awesome....but you have been warned. find out more...
RING (1998)

Certification15 Our Rating

A group of teenagers watch a mysterious videotape and within a week all are dead, their lifeless faces frozen in complete terror. Enter deeply cynical journalist Reiko, unable to resist the now legendary myth, and finding herself drawn into a world of unimaginable horror and fear. Ring is a genuinely frightening movie, no post 'Scream' irony, no knowing sideswipes at the genre, just a chew your nails to the bone slice of terror. find out more...

A tightly made exercise in high tension as an innocent young driver is pursued across country by a homicidal and completely relentless maniac. Don't let it stop you giving lifts though, the Swindon exit of the M4 is a godforsaken place, enough to turn anyone crazy. The DVD is a two disk special edition with filmographies, a documentary and two shorts. find out more...

It's the end of WW2 and highly strung Grace and her two photosensitive children are awaiting the return of her husband. Grace lives an isolated and twilght existence but after the arrival of three uninvited servants she becomes convinced that the house is haunted by malevolent spirits. The Others is a stylish, spooky, highly intelligent ghost story that builds up the tension without having to resort to blood and guts.
