Amidst the economic collapse of the post-Soviet era, three generations of Georgian women live together in Tblisi, each hanging on the arrival of the latest letter from the beloved man of the family who works clandestinely as a labourer in Paris. It is only when the two younger women recieve word that Otar has died that things become more complicated, as they wrestle with the dilemma of whether to tell his dotting mother.
