Another re-working of Herman Neville's novel sees the mad bad and dangerous to know Captain Ahab taking his increasingly reluctant crew on an all consuming quest for vengeance against the infamous white whale, Moby Dick. A class cast and some decent production values make this a tempting alternative to actually reading the classic.

RICHARD III (IAN MCKELLEN) (1996)
Certification15 Our Rating
The original script brought to life in the 1930s with a cast of thousands and the best of action cinema and photography. Richard is truly malevolent and lethal, let loose in a fascist Britain with machine guns and tanks to further his plans for domination. Brilliantly performed, chilling, thrilling edge of the seat stuff.

This is a crackingly entertaining detective adventure though the real star has to be a CG enhanced Victorian London, especially the finale on a half-built Tower Bridge.

A riproaring adaption of John Buchan's book about dastardly German spies, closing in on the framed for murder and running for his life hero, Richard Hannah. Truer in spirit to the book than Hitchcock's adaption, highly entertaining.

The original and the best screen adaptation of John Buchan's jingoistic thriller of German plots and dashing Englishmen. Considered by the director as one of his very best this launched the theme of the innocent man on the run from both the law and the villians. Excellent.
