A frustrated, highly strung, spectacularly unsuccessful puppeteer inadvertently finds a passage way into the mind of John Malkovich and, uniquely skilled as he is in the art of manipulation, this seems like the perfect opportunity to escape his dead-end life and dull wife. There is little point in trying to explain the story further, you'll just have to watch this fantastically surreal, absurd, dark, gobsmackingly original comedy - the brainchild of a quite obviously seriously warped puppy. Marv is a lunkhead of incredible strength, an aggressive power he puts to merciless use when his one true love is murdered. Hartigan is the embittered, but moralistic cop who's sworn to protect a stripper and Dwight is the lover of Shellie and the inadvertent dark angel of Gail's Old Town girls, a feisty group of hookers. These are just a selection of the random characters in Rodriguez's adaptation of Frank Miller's Sin City graphic novels and it's difficult to decide which of the two is the bi find out more...

Tim Burton brings Stephen Sondheim's musical prodigy to the big screen and as you'd expect he does a beautiful and atmospheric job of it. Both Depp and Carter revel in the opportunity given to them and the tale has a gloriously dark, gruesomely humourous tone, which brings me on to my own personal issues… the modern musical; much of the the of dialogue in Sweeney Todd is sung and there is just so much lilting 'mockney' cockney I can take. I can accept this is hugely entertaining film, it's just find out more...
