Tim Robbins wrote, directed and stars in a film that exposes very cleverly the underbelly of US politics. He plays the charismatic Roberts, a right-wing "protest" singer, whose views begin to capture the nation's interest. Sinister machinations abound behind the scenes, and the documentary style works well. Funny too!

An intelligent media satire, sadly obscured by the brilliant "Truman Show", though in truth this is a completely different animal, with a lot more laughs. Matthew McConaughey delivers an amiable performance as small-town Texan boy Ed, who's catapulted to stardom when he's chosen as the star of a real-life 24 hour soap opera. By nature a laid back loafer, Ed basks in his new celebrity status, until it starts to affect everyone else around him. With his girlfriend banished from the show, and skele find out more...

Robin Williams is perfectly cast as the renegade DJ sent to Vietnam to boost morale. With his sarcastic parodies of the US war machine he is loved by the men but hated by the top brass. A fast, witty and towering performance guided by assured direction from Levinson. Superb! find out more...

For those of you not in the know this is a brilliant satire on a bunch of totally cynical New Labour twats, incompetent elected officials and a bunch of muddling bureaucrats. Capaldi is superb, as the PM's foul mouthed attack dog enforcer (Alistair Campbell), as our politicians conspire with both hawks and doves in Washington in the fumbling build-up to a major war to grab oil in the Middle East. find out more...

Great teen comedy as über-bitch Kimberly coerces two other girls into a sex harrassment case against an English teacher she wants revenge on. There's great dialogue, snappy lines and some wonderful characters in this not sexually inexplicit Heathers, Election, Mean Girls type flick. Very dark and very twisted. find out more...

A star-studded cast brings real class to this superior comedy drama chronicling 24 hours in a busy newspaper office. Imagine a brutal 'Office' type satire mixed with an up-dated 'Yes Minister' type setting. Armando Iannucci delivers as he carves a gleeful and expletive thick swathe through the corridors of power behind the claptrap of New Labour. Very, very funny and completely devoid of mercy, it's not hard to imagine that New Labour's PR department would prefer to catch the clap than be forced to sit through an episode… find out more...
