Joe and Terry have just made an opportunistic break from prison and decide to return to their day jobs...bank robbery. An excellent black comedy, handsome thriller and a tall story that keeps you guessing as it unwinds. The genuinely ridiculous plot (a man pays a couple of goons to 'pretend' to kidnap his wife in order to get his paws on his in-laws' 'ransom' money) is completely credible as mighty plans fall apart, spiralling ever more beyond the protagonist's control and leaving us marvelling at the complex stupidity of human nature. A modern classic.

A movie of two halves involving two incompetent brothers; the first, a comedy crime caper, has, in a primitive sort of way, very funny moments. In the second the duo, plus kidnapped foul-mouthed wench Tracey, hole up in a remote rural cottage, which, unfortunately, is inhabited by a family of cannibalistic, homicidal, in-bred farmers, and that's when the blood really starts to flow.
