Post-Freud, both Hyde and Frankenstein have evolved into far more sexual animals than their Victorian originals and the chemistry fairly sizzles in this S&M style period drama.

MARY SHELLEY'S FRANKENSTEIN (1994)
Certification15 Our Rating
Sumptuous, atmospheric adaptation of the gothic horror story with the emphasis on the tragic romance between the doc and his sister. Superb costumes, with Branagh looking suitably crazed as the misguided surgeon, but De Niro gets the sympathy vote, if only for putting the wind up the luvvies.
