A grim and harrowing account of the daily life of a serial killer. If you can stomach the violence, it is well worth watching. The main criticism is that things are seen only from one point of view, which can be limiting. Now available uncut.

Eat your heart out David Lynch! This movie has it all - sex, mutilation, religion, obsession, revenge and a circus which makes Archaos look like a branch of the Young Conservatives. The plot defies description, suffice to say it is perversely funny, grotesquely bizarre and definitely not family viewing.

Angela is doing a thesis on violence in TV and film, but her tutor who is helping her is murdered while researching material and Angela takes the final tape her mentor was watching and finds to her horror that it's a snuff movie. Tesis is as much a thriller as it is a horror movie, stylish, satirical and just a whee bit hypocritical.

The dark shadows, crazy angles and doom laden atmosphere of German Expressionism and the film's extraordinary use of painted light have rarely been copied, and its influence, on film noir in particular, is indisputable.
