BLADE (1998)

Wesley Snipes may well be the only bloke in the world who could successfully pull off the roll of an ass-kicking, law-enforcing vampire hero, but he manages it with bucketloads of charisma in this entertaining nonsense. It helps that his character, a genuine member of the undead, looks great in black leather as he stalks the streets on a mission to stop Stephen Dorff, a jumped-up, man-made vampire, from unleashing Armageddon on mankind. Action packed, with some spectacular fights, and very styli find out more...

Blade is back, but this time his enemy is not the noble league of vampire but a viscous new sub-breed that desires the destruction of the world from which it was spawned. Blade is forced into an uneasy alliance with his one time mortal enemy in a frantically paced race to slaughter, before all are slaughtered. Blade II is an incredibly fast action movie, leaping and bounding from one stunningly choreographed set piece to the next, and what the plot may loose in fluidity the copious amount of inf find out more...

George Romero's classic horror satire gets a rather more serious modern day makeover, resulting in a genuinely frightening addition to the zombie genre. The plot remains fairly true to the original, portraying a world where all the seats around Satan's dinner table have been filled, forcing the recently departed to walk the earth instead. Only this time they don't walk, see. They run. And it is this subtle change that moves this film from gory satire to an edge-of-the-futon suspense horror, as a find out more...

Day Watch is a tour-de-force of post-Communist Russian cinema and has become the country's biggest grossing movie to date; it continues the saga of light vs dark begun in 'Night Watch' and is crammed full of stunning special effects and action. If you liked 'Night Watch' then "Day Watch" will give you much, much more of what you want... fabulous (if not somewhat incomprehensible). find out more...

More like a modern remake of his original 'Night of the Living Dead' than a sequel, this movie uses vidcam footage to record events not, as in some films, as an annoying gimic, but as a comment on how the media and we, thru' the media, see things. find out more...
DOOM (2005)

A frantic call for help from a remote research station on Mars brings a crack team of Marines to the remote Olduvai genetic Research Station where they find a legion of nightmarish creatures, lurking in the darkness, killing at will. These boys are pretty hard-arsed but nothing has prepared them for the hell they are about to experience, a mission that will more than likely be their last. Yet another adaptation of an iconic computer game and sadly just as half baked as all the others…lots of big find out more...

A deadly virus erupts in Scotland, turning those that survive into drooling cannibalistic nutters and so the Scots get barricaded in and left to there own unpromising devices. 27 years later the virus breaks out in London and, in a desperate attempt to find a cure, an elite force of scientists and squaddies are sent to reconnoitre the Highlands and Lowlands of Bonnie Prince Charlie's homeland.
