The original sequel to Hideo Nakata's deeply un-nerving "Ring" focuses on Dr Mitsuo Ando and his determination to understand and ultimately end Sadako's deadly wraith. The Spiral attempts to explain more than "Ring 2" and provide some kind of closure, but it was deemed too difficult to follow when first previewed. Though the whole thing starts out well, with decent doses of good humour and dramatic tension, it all falls very quickly by the wayside.
