Franny and Jane and Christine all have money, Olivia does not. Formerly a teacher, Olivia is now smoking pot and cleaning houses. But her struggle mirrors her friends' in more ways than they'd like to admit. Writer/director Nicole Holofcener comes up trumps again with witty and intelligent dialogue in this film and a human pace which takes time to revel in awkward situations and real life tribulations. It's the off-season at the lonely Beauregard Hotel in Bournemoth, and only the long-term tenants are still in residence.
