Taking its cue from Chronicle (2012), Project Almanac is part of the "found footage" sci-fi phenomenon sweeping contemporary teen cinema. A group of friends discover time travel and use it to have a lot of fun; rewriting their entry into the high school popularity charts, partying without wasting time, acing tests and getting even with bullies. Bryan Singer's homage to the original Superman movies has the pristine lycra guy arriving back on earth having taken a couple of years off to �find himself' on his old home planet. Lois Lane has been busy getting herself a new life and Lex Luther has obviously been puffing on too much of the ol' chill stick, but when SM makes his presence felt his ever hopeful nemesis kicks up a few gears.
