Al Gore finds life after the politically crushing embarrassment that was his tenure as vice president and, frankly, it's unlikely he will experience another point as high as his achievement in this profound, engaging and, mercifully, clear documentary on the consequences of our complacent greed. That ĎAn Inconvenient Truth' provides little in the way of true revelations pertaining to the earth's (humanity's) looming ecological demise, and ignores some of the more profound problems of trapped car find out more...

The late, great Bill Hicks, tragically taken from us early in '94, live on stage at the Dominion Theatre in London. In this, his last performance, the outrageous comic plays to a sell-out audience and is as always, refreshingly irreverent, controversial and thought-provoking. Included in this tribute are clips of interviews with David Letterman and Jay Leno, brief interviews with comedians, including Sean Hughes and Eddie Izzard, anecdotal contributions from old school friends and his parents. Documentary evidence that the enormous influence of German music doesn't begin and end with Kraftwerk. The main attractions on this two discer are a live performance from 1972 by the golden Can line up featuring vocalist Damo Suzuki and an excellent documentary spanning the bands career which includes TV appearances on The Old Grey Whistle Test and Top of the Pops. Its a shame that most of the other 'special features' amount to a load of text biographies but the (very) short film by Brian Eno is find out more...

A documentary following the contrasting fortunes of indie darlings The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Dandy Warhols, both hell-bent on staging a self-proclaimed revolution of the music industry in the mid 1990s. The friendship between respective founders, Anton Newcombe and Courtney Taylor, escalated into bitter rivalry as the Dandy Warhols achieved major international success while the Brian Jonestown Massacre imploded in a haze of drugs, band in-fighting and unchecked egotism. find out more...
