Factory Records, the Hacienda club, Tony Wilson, Happy Mondays, etc, etc. '24 Hour Party People' is an affectionate and humorous trip through Manchester's monster music scene in the 80s and 90s. The soundtrack as you'd expect is blinding and Steve Coogan's portrayal of Wilson is spooky. A film that stands on it's own as an excellent near tragi-comedy, but within its historical context... it's bloody mad!

When Cary Grant discovers a corpse in the window seat of his quaint old maiden aunts, and realises thay are cold blooded murderers, the scene is set for all out farce. A frustrated, highly strung, spectacularly unsuccessful puppeteer inadvertently finds a passage way into the mind of John Malkovich and, uniquely skilled as he is in the art of manipulation, this seems like the perfect opportunity to escape his dead-end life and dull wife. There is little point in trying to explain the story further, you'll just have to watch this fantastically surreal, absurd, dark, gobsmackingly original comedy - the brainchild of a quite obviously seriously warped puppy. The repetitive use of gags that gradually become more and more over the top and an indefinable surreal quality help make this movie one of the funniest and most original for years - and it's an American teen comedy too!!! How can something so wrong feel so right? Just one of the questions you are bound to ask if you decide to make the leap of faith and watch this film. Kazakhstan's favourite TV journo decides that a trip to the "U, S and A" is just what his country needs so he heads off with his trusty producer, Azamat. Absolutely hilarious; the Pamela Anderson stalking, the cheese-eating, the ‘running of the Jew', a Pamplona-style event in Borat's village, the gypsy-tear-collecting, the rodeo crowd cheering Bora find out more...

The kind of light-hearted innocent and yet sophisticated comedy that they just don't make anymore. A flighty young socialite and a crusty zoology professor are thrown together by fate - and a leopard called Baby. Outstanding screwball comedy from the immaculate Hepburn and Grant. find out more...

'Carry on Cleo' sends up the eponymous Taylor/Burton epic Cleopatra. Julius Caesar (Kenneth Williams) returns to Rome after conquering Britain only to find that Rome is awash with rumours of an Egyptian uprising led by Cleopatra. Mark Antony (Sid James) is sent to Egypt to sort her out, while two British slaves (Kenneth Connor and Jim Dale) are caught up in a conspiracy to assassinate Caesar. Fantastic performances all round, including a delightfully dotty one by Amanda Barrie, ensure that Talbo find out more...
CLUELESS (1995)

Based on Jane Austen's Emma, but set in Beverly Hills and updated to include such essentials as mobile phones, plastic surgeons and endless shopping. 15-years-old Cher is gorgeous, popular, rich and utterly clueless. A brilliant mixture of high school satire and feel-good froth.
