CHI-RAQ (2015)

Certification15 Our Rating

Lee returns to his previous polemic and fine filmmaking form with Chi-Raq, a musical-comedy satire about the cycle and effects of violence and gun crime on black communities in America. The story is all Lysistrata (Aristophanes); women withhold sex from men in the hopes of making them stop using violence against each other. DEADPOOL (2016)

Certification15 Our Rating

Deadpool is not a superhero, he's a guy with a grudge who just so happens to have super accelerated healing powers. Experiment gone wrong kind of thing. Consequently he's crass, crude and often downright offensive. He breaks the fourth wall and doesn't just cross the line - no, this is a character who vomits all over it. With relish. Too sexist for my liking, but apparently it's a hit with teenage boys.
