The children's teatime cartoon comedy makes it to the big screen. Inspector Gadget comes in the form of Matthew Broderick, while the outrageously camp (oh..and evil) Dr Claw is played by Rupert Everett. There are some impressive special effects and how Inspector Gadget became inspector "Gadget" is fully explained. Bar that, it's just your old terribly good guy versus your terribly naughty guy scenario. Great fun for the kids, prehaps a tad soporific for the parents...at least the little darlings find out more...

Werner Herzog returns with his trademark dry wit to tell us all about the wonders and pitfalls of the technological world we live in. While it entertains it fails to present an engaged, critical view - perhaps because it is all so new to Herzog. Entertaining enough, but not at all cinematic, this is your standard talking heads tv doc stuff.
