GREASE (1978)

A high school musical which ripped off everything it could from the 1950s. At the time it was slated, but, in retrospect, it started a trend and is nowhere near as bad as some of the movies which followed it. In fact, one could go as far as to say it's now a bit of a classic... find out more...

A fine cast plays in flawless ensemble fashion, the songs are a sheer delight, every one a classic, and Garland never looked better. A screen musical gem, lovely. find out more...

In this case the innocent are squatters determined to fight for their rights against a rancher and his gunmen; in one way this is the evolution of the west from lawlessness to settlement, in another the battle between big and small business. For Shane the options are clear, find out more...

The nearest you'll ever get to a psychedelic experience without having to crawl around fields picking poison fungi or buying dodgy stuff at festivals. Still a brilliant cartoon after all these years, a trip through the design styles of the 60s - the soundtrack's not bad either! find out more...
