OF FREAKS AND MEN (1998)
Certification18 Our Rating
Johann is a charming and manipulative photographer, in turn of the 20th Century St Petersburg, who peddles images of bare bottomed women being flogged. Worming his way into the lives of two wealthy families he uses their beautiful young daughters as subjects for his films. Of Freaks and Men is a dark and fascinating tale that cruises the bourgeoisies hypocritical predilection with sex. Not to everyone's taste but a fine piece of surreal and visually striking cinema.
