BULLHEAD (2011)

Certification15 Our Rating

Based on the true story of the murder of Karel van Noppen, this hard-hitting drama from Belgium stars Rust and Bone's Matthias Schoenaerts as a young cattle farmer approached by an unscrupulous veterenarian to make an illicit deal with a notorious beef trader. Michaël R. Roskam's muscular direction and an outstanding performance from Schoenaerts both render this one of the year's very best dramas.

Dark and brooding sci-fi treat from the director of "The Crow". In a city controlled by "The Strangers" - a colony of spooky bald aliens - everything stops at midnight. The citizens' memories are reprogrammed, and their surroundings altered, with everyone waking up in a state of dazed confusion. Everyone that is, except John Murdoch, (Rufus Sewell) who is somehow immune to the induced collective trance, and who knows that the murder rap he is suddenly, supposedly, facing is a nonsense. FARGO (1996)

Certification18 Our Rating

An excellent black comedy, handsome thriller and a tall story that keeps you guessing as it unwinds. The genuinely ridiculous plot (a man pays a couple of goons to 'pretend' to kidnap his wife in order to get his paws on his in-laws' 'ransom' money) is completely credible as mighty plans fall apart, spiralling ever more beyond the protagonist's control and leaving us marvelling at the complex stupidity of human nature. A modern classic.

LOCKE (2013)

Certification15 Our Rating

Once you get over yourself and accept that that Welsh accent tumbling from Tom Hardy’s handsome pie hole is actually pretty spot on, you can buckle up and fly right alongside construction worker Ivan Locke (played by TH), as he navigates the s-bends of the sum parts of his existence, from the confines of his BMW X5, while in transit to his future one. Locke’s pathological wont to “do the right thing” drives the eerily tense and compelling narrative. The M6 is excellent find out more...
