INDIANA JONES - RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK (1981)
CertificationPG Our Rating
A fantastic family movie and one of the best pure adventure films ever made. THE film that single-handedly made archaeologists hip, as Ford battles to save the Biblical Ark of the Covenant from the dastardly Nazis. Two hours of swash-buckling fun, excitement and entertainment. A modern classic.

Not to be confused with the TV series, good though that was this is the original item that started it all off. Blacker harder-hitting and funnier than the TV version, although featuring the same characters and some of the same actors. An all-time classic anti-war movie. Just brilliant, see it!

THE GRADUATE (1967)
Certification15 Our Rating
One of the great sixties films, the one that brought Dustin Hoffman to public notice, as he plays an alienated Los Angelian rich kid searching for a meaning in life and discovering sex. Great movie to be watched, or rewatched, and with a superb soundtrack by Simon and Garfunkel.

WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? (1966)
Certification15 Our Rating
Burton and Taylor in a screen version of the kind of love-hate relationship which they were famous for in private, a kind of on-screen therapy. Taylor gives what is probably her finest performance as the blowsy harridan Martha, while Burton is not quite so hammy as usual as her angst-ridden college professor husband. The verbal fireworks that occur when they invite a young couple to dinner are surprisingly convincing. A must see classic.
