Chris Johnson can see into the future, not very far, but hey even a couple of minutes grace could have saved me an awful lot of fallout. Reluctantly conscripted into a government agency Chris uses his gift to help thwart some very bad people from detonating something truly unpleasant in the very heart of the only thing or place that the Chilly Peppers ever sing about, LA. Next is a very silly action thriller, but if you enter in to it with only escapism on your mind it does the job admirably.

An FBI spy infiltrates a gang of surfers suspected of a series of bank robberies. As he becomes more attracted to their lifestyle, cracks begin to show in his cover, and so begins an adrenalin-charged battle of intrigue on land, and in sky and sea. Incredible surfing and sky-diving sequences. Great!

Angelina Jolie slips into action-woman mode as Evelyn Salt, a CIA spy accused of being a Russian spy, which she may indeed be, who is involved in a potentially apocalyptic plot to nuke... who? You'll have to watch 'Salt' to find out.

This is a bizarre hybrid, a hi-tech caper movie with lo-tech charm, an action pic with incongruously mellow Californian pacing, a post-Cold War thriller with sassy wit. Redford heads a team of 'sneakers' - freelance tech-heads who execute computer heists to test corporate security systems. It's basically an old folk's operation, with crusty CIA vet Poitier, wild card conspiracy nut Aykroyd, blind genius Strathairn, and McDonnell as a mature femme fatale, only Phoenix guarantees the teen market.

A totally seductive knockabout movie with Robert Mitchum 'Duke' and Jane Greer 'Chiquita Graham' in fine form. Duke has to catch the culprit for a payroll heist to prove his own innocence and shake off a pursuing army officer, a chase that takes him to Mexico, where he meets Chiquita, who is independently after the same con-man, and here they find action, adventure and romance. A fast paced narrative with an outstanding supporting cast, especially Ramon Novarro as Inspector General Ortega.

A superb action packed thriller with Ford as the hounded Dr Kimble who, wrongly convicted of murdering his wife, escapes from a prison bus and tries to find out why she was killed and who the murderer really was. Jones is superb (Oscar winning!) as the laconic but obsessed Fed, following him like a bloodhound. The big stunts will take your breath away, and the breakneck pace never slackens.

A suprisingly snappy and intelligent, if Hollywood generic, conspiracy thriller. Clive Owen plays the manically driven British interpol detective determined, along with Naomi Watts' New York DA, to nail the bosses of a powerful international bank that launders dirty money, deals arms and murders to cover its tracks. A classic shoot-up scene takes place in New York's Guggenheim Museum and there's a nifty chase through Istanbul's Grand Bazaar.
