Jules Verne's classic underwater adventure is brought vividly to life in this 1950's Disney adaptation, thanks in large part to some great monster effects, and James Mason's scene stealing portrayal of Captain Nemo as mad genius. Huge fun.

Captain Jack Sparrow once again manages to drag all those who owe him nothing into a race against time to save his worthless, but charming, soul. On this occasion it's the infamous Davy Jones who has dibs on the master of the ‘Black Pearl', and only if Jack can steal the fabled dead man's chest might he escape his grim fate. The extra footage mostly concerns the end of the film, and for those who've seen the original, this one makes a whole helluva lot more sense! A throughly entertaining action-adventure as two half-brothers fight for the Northumbrian throne. Lots of pillaging, axe-throwing, hearty quaffing of ale, storming of castles heroic jumping into wolf pits and manly talk of entering Valhalla sword in hand. Sounds like the Swedes on hols again.
