Stallone is more stocky than Rocky in this brooding corruption drama, playing Freddy Heflin, the half-witted sheriff of a quiet New Jersey suburb that's been all but taken over by bent cops. Heflin either doesn't notice or doesn't care about their small-time crooked capers, until one of Manhattan's not-so-finest, Murray Babitch, shoots dead a couple of black motorists. In a gob-smacking display of arrogance, Babitch fakes his own death and "hides out" in Cop Land, right under Heflin's nose. B find out more...

Stylish chiller thriller with Denzel Washington as homicide detective John Hobbes, who gets the heebie-jeebies at a spate of murders bearing all the trademarks of serial killer Edgar Reese - because Hobbes himself watched Reese put to death in the gas chamber. Forced to confront facts which go against everything the hardened cop knows to be true, Hobbes finds himself on the trail of an unseen entity which can take over anyone it fancies. Darkly X-Files-ish.

Riveting stuff from Clint as the aging Fed desperate to prove he's not over the hill, and that JFK's death wasn't his fault! John Malkovich is superb as the laconic and devious killer out to get both the president and Clint in one go. Cliches aside, tight direction keeps up maximum pace. find out more...

When retired Military Police officer Hank receives a message telling him his army enlisted boy is missing from his New Mexico base and when his request for answers reveals nothing the old man, helped by an initially reluctant female detective, sets out on a detection path of his own. "In The Valley Of Elah" is a clever, nicely photographed film that ultimately makes its stance on the dehumanisation that results from violent conflict (Iraq).
