So if it's action you're after then this is the movie... dialogue... er character... er - just enjoy it for what it is and remember that the belated attempts to 3D it for the cinema were a disaster so you see it on DVD as it should be watched... in good old fashioned 2D. find out more...
DR NO (1962)

The first Bond film. The evil Dr No is out for world control and only JB can save the world! One of the earliest and one of the best. The one where Ursula Andress oozes out of the surf in a low cut bikini, with conch shell!, and into Jim's arms. find out more...

Crockett and Tubbs are two super-cool, super-tough undercover Miami cops, but their latest gig takes them so deep into the world of major drug-trafficking that it becomes increasingly difficult to find a way out in anything other than a coffin. Michael Mann returns to his iconic TV series and makes a smooth, pacey, big screen retread, where two dimensional characters and a barely present storyline mercifully take a back seat to the slick action. find out more...

Captain Jack Sparrow has lost nearly everything; his treasure, his beloved boat, even his treacherous crew. What Jack hasn't lost however is his roguish charm, envious self-belief and a single minded determination that what was once his will become his again. 'Pirates of the Caribbean' also has true love, much righteous daring do and a ship full of the undead, but this high seas romp is made by Johnny Depp's hilariously roguish pirate; a comic tour de force and a rip-roaring adventure to boot. find out more...

Jack's back after an unholy union of ‘friends' and rogues save him from Davey Jones' locker. In this final instalment the pirates must form an unlikely brotherhood to defend their carefree existence from the dastardly and ruthless British. Unfortunately for us this means a whole wad of Keira Knightley, she even gives a rousing speech to the rabble before battle, a delivery that brings to mind one of those handbag dogs being garrotted by its own collar. An enormous running time, a god awful score find out more...

Captain Jack Sparrow once again manages to drag all those who owe him nothing into a race against time to save his worthless, but charming, soul. On this occasion it's the infamous Davy Jones who has dibs on the master of the ‘Black Pearl', and only if Jack can steal the fabled dead man's chest might he escape his grim fate. 'Pirates Of The Caribbean 2' is a very similar but less entertaining retread of the first film, and as pop corn escapism it has much to recommend it, but two and half hours, find out more...
