By all reckoning, this remake of an 80s classic should be a catastrophe. It isn't. Much of the credit for that little miracle goes to Dennis Quaid and Kenny Wormald. I'm not saying it's 'good'. Just that it's better than you'd imagine Footloose without the Bacon could be.

The Bellas, an all-girl acapella group thriving on female pop songs and their perfect looks, are forced to regroup after an epic fail at last year’s final. Yes ‘Pitch Perfect’ is a musical but in comparison to some of the recent dogs in that genre this is a light, enjoyable and occasionally genuinely witty offering.
