A frustrated, highly strung, spectacularly unsuccessful puppeteer inadvertently finds a passage way into the mind of John Malkovich and, uniquely skilled as he is in the art of manipulation, this seems like the perfect opportunity to escape his dead-end life and dull wife. There is little point in trying to explain the story further, you'll just have to watch this fantastically surreal, absurd, dark, gobsmackingly original comedy - the brainchild of a quite obviously seriously warped puppy. An excellent black comedy, handsome thriller and a tall story that keeps you guessing as it unwinds. The genuinely ridiculous plot (a man pays a couple of goons to 'pretend' to kidnap his wife in order to get his paws on his in-laws' 'ransom' money) is completely credible as mighty plans fall apart, spiralling ever more beyond the protagonist's control and leaving us marvelling at the complex stupidity of human nature. A modern classic.

It isn't long before Andreas marries attractive interior designer Anne Britt and as the pair settle into a comfortable, if emotionally vacant, routine, the newly arrived citizen starts to question why everyone and everything seems so superficial; an observation that has not find out more...

Stephane is deeply unfulfilled in his job, but in his dream world things just couldn't be better….and he dreams a lot. What do you do when your parents are divorcing? More to the point what do you do when it's as ugly as hell and they make your sparse teenage wisdom look like the epitome of well rounded reason? These are the unpleasant dilemmas facing Noah Baumbach's protagonist and it would seem there are no simple answers....if indeed there are any answers at all. The Squid And The Whale is an excruciatingly toe curling comedy drama, painfully, squirmingly funny, with an outstanding performance from Jeff Danie find out more...
